Geoff's Review
Opened in 2005, the Rialto Cinema added to a city dominated by the Bay City multiplex but population growth (Tauranga is one of the fastest growing cities in NZ) has enabled the Rialto to offer a healthy alternative of art house fare. It also hosts the Tauranga Film Society, and various long and short specialist film festivals.
The cinema may appear a little plain by day but become a welcoming destination at night, in the heart of Tauranga's CBD. Seniors, children's and other ticket concessions.
Check out the nearby "Collar and Thai" restaurant.
