Geoff's Review
See also LIGHT HOUSE PETONE and LIGHT HOUSE CUBA
The second link in the Light House chain in the Wellington region, which all feature a high standard of film fare (with an emphasis on art house titles), screening and seating, and liquid and other nourishment. Serves the neighbouring city of Porirua and coastal villages, as well as newer suburbs such as Whitby, where McMansions crowd the hillsides above Paramata Harbour.
The cinema opened in 2006 and stands in picturesque spot, close by the Pauatahanui Nature Reserve, with handy parking found over a little bridge close by the entrance. The cinema replaced a series of community halls, which served the local community and temporary residents, such as US marines during WWII.
Well worth an excursion, with an interesting drive bringing you to an interesting cinema. Open 10am-9pm, with special offers (Light House Littlies, Senior Wednesday, Student Thursday & Mad Monday)
