Geoff's Review
Aligned with Focal Point Cinemas in Feilding and Levin, the Focal Point Hastings caters for a similar audience in a different town. Cinema Hastings provides a mix of mainstream films and art house titles.
This cinema went through a transition in 2013, transforming itself from its former role as a Readings multiplex, to a more unique and independent cinema. The renovations are impressive, with an upmarket cafe now in the foyer space which once was a TimeOut Zone.
Matching the grand, art deco-influenced street frontage with its giant 'Cinema' sign, similar touches feature in the interior of the cinema and have been accentuated in the renovations.
Whilst in Hastings, also check the magnificent, recently renovated Hawke's Bay Opera House, which is at the core of Toitoi--Hawke's Bay Arts and Events Centre.
