Geoff's Review
This little cinema, which screens recent releases on Friday/Sat/Sun evenings, is run by local film enthusiast Frankie Edwards, together with a small team of volunteers.
Sited in a rear room of the historic old Town Hall in the historic settlement of Russell (one of the earliest sites of European settlement in New Zealand), it provides a regular menu of films (primarily art house titles) for tourists and locals. A special feature are the local transport/movie deals, where $20 will cover a ferry trip across the harbour from Paihia, or a tuk tuk ride (you just need to inform the captain or the driver that you are heading to the Cinema Kororareka).
