Geoff's Review
The name suggest some dark dungeon but it really a well-lit cinema just below street level, down a gentle slope off the shopping area of Hinemoa Street. The adjacent climbing wall attracts your attention firstly, where you can usually find children scrambling up the hand-holds, whilst their anxious parents wait below.
Less prominent are the doors to Cinema 1 and Cinema 2, two smaliish cinemas which a good range of 8-10 sessions daily of art house films (eg "Melancholia" and "Submarine" in January 2012).
There are senior citizen rates and you can join up for a membership card which entitles you further benefits eg eg free coffee/wine with every 10 visits.
Attracts an older audience, who are obviously more interested in films than climbing walls, as well tourists who head to Rotorua in great numbers.
